Just FYI, you might want to try another "sticky notes" type app that is very much like the Vista gadget but slightly improved and compatible with W7. I greatly prefer it to the "sticky notes" that is native to W7. This gadget is available on Windows Live and is called: "Large Notes." It saves multiple notes, you can customize fonts and colors of the notes, there are various sizes of notes and it's ultra simple to set up and use. You basically just download and install the gadget and place it anywhere you want on your desktop.
That would, again, just be treating the symptoms...
I would rather find the disease itself, and get rid of it.
But thanks for suggesting the LargeNotes application :)

Not really. What I'm saying is this app has better easier functionality, imo. YMMV of course. But I haven't used sticky notes since I installed Large Notes. In fact just finally took SNs off the start menu yesterday after I realized it was just taking up space now.

I appriciate your suggestion, don't get me wrong :)
It's just that I would like to get this problem solved, since it could potentially also affect other applications than just StickyNotes.

Besides, I used LargeNotes for a while on Vista...
    - and didn't really like it tbh.
It's the simplicity I like about StickyNotes.
Yes, you can call me simple

I have exactly the same problem.
maybe that is a nVidia driver issue?

Hello Aperson, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I haven't had a problem like this with using any of the NVIDIA drivers, but uninstalling and reinstalling them might not be a bad idea in case they got corrupted.

I have installed - uninstalled, both WHQL and BETA drivers...
Still no luck, same weird frame around the StickyNotes

Sorry I forgot to mention I did all the suggested "fixes" above before posting.
I also have a Leptop running Win 7 x64 Pro with Intel chipset running sticky notes no problem.
Tried on friends PC with ATI display adapter also no problem.
I suspect it is some sort of glitch on nVidia.

Wouldn't be the first "glitch" in Nvidia drivers for a new OS...
Considering how long the OEMs have the new software for testing before the actual release-date, that would just be pathetic if it were the case again...

I just read through this thread and decided to give sticky notes a look on mine and no boarders here with the 191.07 driver. Doesn't help but thought I'd post anyway.

A couple of other people have written in this thread, that they haven't had any issues with StickyNotes and Nvidia drivers...
    - so I don't think so either.

Unless of course it's a combo of Nvidia drivers and other programs that tricker the unintended "frame-effect"!?
