Look under Windows.old/users/[user name]/documents. Let me know? Can you include a screen shot for Windows.old/users?

    That's Windows.old, not Windows.old\Users

Using Windows Explorer, expand C:\Windows.old and post a screen capture.
Expand C:\Windows.old\Users and post a screen capture.

Hi,as you can probably tell this is first time on a laptop as I don't know how to post a screen shot.
Can you control my laptop as I have heard it may be possible.

If Windows.old\Users is not there then your data is gone, sorry.

You could try running a program like Recuva but I don't think you'll have much success.

That's why doing regular backups is so important.

Once a week, once a month or whenever you make any significant change to your computer, use a program like Macrium Reflect Free to make an image backup to an external USB hard drive. At the very least you should be backing up your data but an image backup is a better choice.

Won't help you now but will in the future.
