Screen dimming makes screen black out.

To be more specific, when I dim my screen for a period of time it dims, but then a part of the screen get even darker. When I go to brighten the screen again, that same part stays dim. Now when the screen is at it's brightest 50% of the screen is dimmed and the other side is at its brightest. Im not sure if this makes sense to any of you, but any help would be appreciated. Thank you for looking.

    Hi Crosswa1k.
Sounds like a bad screen to me, any uneven illumination with LCD screens is usually bad LED's or fluorescent tubes or part of the screen is damaged. Either way you are not going to be able to fix this yourself. If the unit is in warranty get the screen replaced, if not you'll have to live with it as it would be cost prohibitive to replace the screen. If your laptop is used in a desk location you could hook it up to a separate external monitor.

Indianatone, thank you for helping. I wasnt sure if there was something I could do to physically make this better or not. Again, thank you for the help.

You are very welcome. Like I said if you wanted to connect the unit to a monitor it will work fine. There is a possibility the screen could get worse over time so that might be the best course of action for you. Good Luck.
