My PC keeps shutting off and tripping the PSU while/after gaming.

    Hello,

A few months back, my Acer Predator G5910 Gaming PC started freezing during a gaming session. The first few times, the whole computer froze and there was a repeated beeping noise. The only thing I could do, was to switch the computer off by the switch at the back. I also started getting the blue screen of death, as it is known, but cannot remember the error code. A few days after it started tripping the PSU for safety reasons because there was something wrong with it. I cleaned all the dust off the fans but that only postponed the problem for about a day. It came to a stage where, every time I tried switching it on, it would simply trip the power. I then changed the power cable which seemed to work for a few months, up until recently. It shuts off silently, sometimes tripping the power supply, sometimes not. It's only happened either while I'm playing a game (most of the time), or shortly after. I think it is an Internal problem and possibly heat related.

    Thank you for any responses.

Could you please fill in your system specks completely. We need that done so we can give proper advice.
You are tripping the power supply and yet you don't state what power supply you are using.

Any time something trips the power supply it could be serious problems.
I would unplug the system from the wall socket and take a very good look at all cords and connection for any signs of burnt or other damage.

***Do NOT open the power supply.***

Take a look at My System Specs in the lower left of this post and will give you a idea of information you can add.

Okay, I will attach a photo of the PSU. And I don't think it's the cables. I've replaced the power cable out with two others and still the same. Could it be that there is quite a bit of dust inside the PSU?

I have been doing some Googling and that power supply gets very poor reviews.
    Mostly poor voltage regulating.

I would suggest you get a Corsair or a Seasonic power supply 650W or higher Gold or higher.

But it worked great for two years up until, as I said, a few months back. Is there no solution? Has the PSU just had it?

YA and the tire wasn't flat until it went flat.
The power supply wasn't very good when it was new.

There is really no good way to test a power supply at home. They do make equipment that can test it.
I wouldn't bother having it tested.
    I would just replace it.
I don't know if it will solve all your problems but it makes no sense doing anything else until a quality power supply is installed.
