    File permission error


    Word cannot complete the save due to file permission error.

    Yes this is a removable 16G flash memory but adobe software and other software does not have a problem with this. Only Microsoft software.

    I am the only home user. I am the administrator. As for re-naming the file this is a new file and should not need to be renamed.

    Create new word document
    Write some stuff
    SAVE AS -> File permission error.

    It doesn't matter if you are the Administrator or have the Administrator account. Word might need elevated privilege to write to that USB drive. For that, you would need to right click on Word and choose "Run as Administrator."

    Which Version of Office are you using ? ... Does this only happen when you are using the USB ? ....

    Which Adobe Products do you use ? ....

First, I assume that this is a 'setup' problem. While moving some files from my thumb drive to folders on my 7 PC I was greeted with something like "you don't have permission to save to that folder". I am the admin and the only user of this computer and I want to be able to do whatever I want...
