    Cant open files on USB , Please help me .


    I upgrade my OS and transfer all office documents using a USB , Now i cant access files . . error file extenssion is not valid , I don't have permission is the second . Please help me this all my wife's work and she wants to kill me because it wont open . I am new to this forums . I hope some one helps .

    That is an Excel file extension. Not sure how it got on your Word files, but perhaps Excel will open them. Don't try this, tho, until someone here more experienced than myself chimes in and either agrees or disagrees with me. Can't be too cautious

    this is an excel document that i am trying to open but is happening on all my document types that are currently in usb including word , and pdf ,It also said i had no permissions

    Can you help provide a little more info.

    Excel and Word are part of Microsoft Office, do you still have Microsoft Office and a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader installed?

    Can you post a screenshot of the permissions error you are seeing

    It's just a permissions issue. The files are 'owned' by whoever created them and are not going to allow any Tom, Dick or Harry to open them. So did you and your wife have separate user accounts under the old OS or was everything done in your user account?

    No , we only had one account. I check on the ownership . i will send screenshot of it .

    Yes , i have office , and adobe reader . it all happen when i transfer them to usb and did the OS upgrade . she had access to the files before in computer.
