How to down load and save video in W 7

How do I down load and save video in Windows 7 Pro?

Every thing winds up in Windows Media Player as music which won't play back as a video.

Windows 7 Professional SP1 64bit, Debian GNU/Linux 64bit (virtual machine on a RAM drive)

Seems likely to be a file format or codex issue of some sort. Possibly try downloading the video in another format, if available, or using a different player such as VLC Media Player (offsite link; use at your own risk: to play the files.

Another choice is the Toolbar for .flv videos. All the .flv files I have came from YouTube.
