@jumanji. Thank you so much!!
To answer all your questions...
Yes I am very happy to have recovered my files the Lucid Puppy way. Your tutorial is excellent! .
I would highly recommend it to anyone this has happened to.
I know it is important to backup. I did have most of my stuff backed up, but not all my latest 'stuff'. I was being lazy and pushing my luck.
I won't be pushing my luck any more!!
Info about my 3 year old Lappy...
I was pretty much computer illiterate. I didn't even know how to turn one on.
My PC was a Birthday gift from my Mom just before she passed away.
She was computer literate and thought it was time I learned how to use one.
So, my PC may not be the best on the market, but it has sentimental value and I want to 'Rescue it'.
Humans are strange this way... anyways...
Yes, my computer came with Windows 7 preinstalled.
No, there were not any discs for drivers that came with the computer.
There weren't any discs at all.
I will check, check, check HP Website before I think about Windows 7 Reinstall. Thank you...I would not have thought of that.
Yes, the label, of Authenticity, on the bottom of my PC, with the Product Key is in good shape and readable. I do not shuffle my PC around much, just sits on my desk. I mainly use it to do art.
No, I did not make a Recovery Disc at the time because I didn't know better.
I do now.
No, I do not have any friends here that would have Kaspersky. I am new in town. My computer was my only friend. Lol.
I will probably just doing a Factory Reset.
I have read gregrocker's tutorial several times over and I am not grasping it all. (although it is an excellent tutorial) It is over my head at this moment. I will have to read it several more times before 'I get it' ...that's just me.
Thanks for listening. Cheers. :)
