    Which is best laptop?

A friend asked me what laptop to get for web browsing and light Multi-tasking. I suggested at least a Core i3 because I had been trying them before settling on an i5 I found at same budget price. I also recommended using Best Buy's 15 day trial period with full refund if it doesn't shake out. I went through 5 over 2 years before settling on mine, finding deal killers like loose charger plug that might go unnoticed without a trial period. Hey, if Best Buy offers this then why not use it? Their prices are right

He replies that he found two:

    First is 15.6" L55-b5267 $349.99
    4th Gen intel core i3-4025u
6gb memory and 750 gb hard drive
    widows 8.1
    ports 1 usb3.0 and 2 usb2.0 ,. 1 hdmi,1 Ethernet
    Bluetooth Wireless N

    2nd is 17.3" c75d-b7260 $469.99
    amd a6-6310 processor
8gb memory and 750gb hard drive
    ports usb3.0and 2.0
    amd radeon r4 video hardware
    wireless802.11
I lean toward a 17" if its not thatmuch heavier as I'd appreciate the larger screen, but have no experience with AMD so thought I'd ask others' opinions which also helped me.

I'm not too good at comparing Intel vs AMD to be honest but but maybe this will help?
AMD A6-6310 vs Intel Core i3-4025U

I tend to stick with Intel due to lack of AMD knowledge

I own a couple of AMDs - they are OK. A 17" I would only buy for stationary use. But either one would do his jobs.

    I'd shop Newegg first
Check out all of the goodies there and compare the stat's to what BB had,
Don't settle for what they have too limited,
I also wouldn't worry about the screen size I find a 1280x800 screen more than enough real-estate = 15+" diagonal

Mike, I actually never saw a better deal on laptops than from BestBuy or some other brick and mortar stores in the Sunday paper. I don't think laptops are Newegg focus items. Plus they don't provide the 2 week trial period and have become more hard headed recently if you want to return something. With one item I had to go directly to the manufacturer to get it replaced.

Your right but it's a good place to compare models stat's... with what BB has in stock,
Newegg has some interesting products Asus and Acer to be specific
    But yea trials are out

    All I have is Intel,
I would be surprised if there was a difference in dual boot with either,
    Manufactures wise :/
I've had some luck with Acer so as long as the spec's are good I wouldn't expect the junkware to be any different
But 17" is a bit less portable but that also is a personal preference like manufactures,
Most are assembled in china anyway

    Go for the Intel

I've worked with both AMD & Intel CPU's and for watching videos Intel is a better CPU. I'd prefer a 17" screen but since it has the AMD CPU that makes me choose the Intel machine. That's just my personal opinion.
