    Constant W7 program crashes

Hi - I keep getting application crashes running W7 pro 64 bit. The error popup is 'Program X has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.' This happens on just about any program that I try to run. Any ideas what could be causing this? I'm attaching the zip file from the DM Log Collector. Thanks!

Have you a Anti-Virus programme on your computer? it SURE sounds like something a virus or, a trojan would do?

You are obviously able to get into Windows so, it might be an idea to run a scan with an external programme, something like a portable AV?
You could try using msconfig.exe and untick all of the NON MS services and reboot your machine. It is worth a try and if it works, you will find what COULD be causing your problem. If you are not confident in doing this, take a look at this walk through:
To start Windows in Diagnostic startup mode

    1. Open System Configuration by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-clicking System Configuration.* If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. Click the General tab, click Diagnostic startup, click OK, and then click Restart.
If the problem occurs, then basic Windows files or drivers might be corrupted. For more information, search Windows Help and Support for "Startup Repair."
If the problem does not occur, then use Selective startup mode to try to find the problem by turning individual services and startup programs on or off.

    and:

I just again looked through the files you uploaded and there appears to be a constant problem with disk 3. Have you run a SFC scan?
    You can run chkdsk:

    Windows 7 Check Disk

    1. Open the "Computer" window
    2. Right-click on the drive in question
    3. Select the "Tools" tab
    4. In the Error-checking area, click <Check Now>.

I do hope this info will help with your problem. You might want to do a BACKUP of your system before you do ANYTHING at all.

I did a disk scan of all disks with no problems. I'm running AVAST! free edition as my AV. I also ran Malwarebytes, which turned up a couple of PUPs, which I quarantined. Reboot and the problem still persists. I will try the clean boot and report back what happens.

OK, so I did what was suggested and started in Diagnostic mode with just Microsoft processes allowed - success! Everything ran as normal with no crashes. So now I'm thinking to slowly add other processes until I can determine which is the culprit. But then what is the next step? How do I get rid of this once it is pinpointed? Thanks again!

Either update the driver or uninstall the program.

I encountered something similar and was able to solve it using a Sysinternals tool
    called Procdump.
That case is documented in my blog, you can follow along and try to pinpoint the culprit
on your own or you can ask if something is unclear :) .

OK, I think I have this one figured out. It was the Premier color program that Dell uses for their IPS screen color management. I recently updated it. Turns out that you can set a color space for each application, but somehow it was causing a crash whenever I launched a new application. I'll fiddle with it's settings and get back to work. Thanks everyone.
