Computer double beeping and changing date and time.

Hello. For the last few months almost every time I turn on my computer it will double beep(instead of one beep) and once I get to my desktop the date will go back to January 1st, 2011. If this is not the right spot to put this then please move it.

This is usually caused by a flat CMOS battery. This battery is used as a back up battery for keeping time & date etc. when the computer is shut down.
Firstly enter the BIOS & make a note of all the settings as they are now.
Turn off & disconnect the main power lead & then remove one of the panels you should be able to see this battery. In most cases it is 3 volt 2032 lithium battery.
Remove it carefully & leave it out for at least a minute & then fit the new battery. Replace the side panel, reconnect the power lead & power up, then enter the BIOS & reset the time & date & make sure all the settings are the same as they were before.

Should this have happened on a 2-3 year old computer?

It can. Batteries can go flat at any time & it does also depend on hold long the battery had been in stock before being fitted.
