Html files embedded in Applications opening in browser

When i try to install or uninstall certain programs, or start programs with ads embedded, they open in chrome, i fiddled with the default program settings awhile ago and now this is happening, cant uninstall some programs as the html only has a couple of pages, so when i click next the next html doesn't open

thanks, but didnt help at all, my problem is not that html elements open in other application, its that EVERY SINGLE ONE of them opens in chrome, tried unistalling chrome but they just open in firefox, uTorrent opens a blank html every time it starts, which i assume is some sort of ad, cannon printer installation guide opens a blank box, exactly like the regular installation guide, then chrome opens an html with everything that is supposed to be in said box

    Hi,
Give a real example of a html file your attempting to open,
Sounds to me like you .exe file associations are off
    Paste a html element,
fwiw if you open a web address it will open in a browser

    Hi,
Review Jacee’s instructions to run Adwcleaner here post #7,
Ignore the title of the thread,
    Instant Savings App
Screen shot of the download button to use for Adwcleaner
You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
See this tutorial on how to download and run Malwarebytes,
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free
Also use the Custom scan option not the Threat scan,

Please Do Not clean/ Delete or Remove Any detections before posting the scan results first before review especially Malwarebytes,

SAS is safe to remove anything it finds

Use Safe mode with networking to download and run the scanners repeat them booting normally,
Shut down your machine, Unplug-Hold the power button down for 30/45 seconds (Power Drain)
Power up and Tap the F8 key continuously until you see a black page with white text,
Use the down arrow key to toggle to safe mode with networking/ hit the enter key.
    Login as usual,
    Cheers.

Click Start and type in the search box,
    msconfig
Click on the suggestion on top or hit the Enter key,
Go to the Startup section and take some screen shots for a complete list,
Go to the Services section and on the bottom left Check the box to Hide All Microsoft services,
    Repeat the screen shots,

Are D and E on a external hdd or partitions on the C drive ?
