I have 3 files on my media HDD that tell me I do not have permission to perform this action?

How do I override this and delete them?

    Thanks.
    Hello JohnnyScience,

The link below was helpful to a user, might help you too in your case.
In your case you can apply the information to files instead of directories.

    Download Unlocker.

Microsoft willl try to block the site,. just click more details and choose Disregard and Continue.

Funny thing is when I was trying ti install Service Pack 2 in Vista they had free telephone support and the Microsoft representative told me to go there and download it,. because he wanted to delete a file was was locked

When you right-click on a file of folder it should appear on the context menu.

    Yours isn't?

I've ran it on Windows 7 with no problems.

Yes,. MSE will pop up,. because it interacts with the lowest part of the operating system''

Virus scanner don't like this,. but it is a false positive

Like I said,. I don't know what MSE does with a suspected virus file.

Look into the options pg MSE.

    Or just simply uninstall it

    @JohnnyScience
In the file properties under security, if your name doesnt show, add it and then give full control.
According to the pic u have posted, it says, you need permission from JohnnyScience. This means, you are not logged in as JohnnyScience.

Try it and let us know.

    Hmmmm!
Is this thread saying that "Take Ownership" isn't working to give permission to delete those files?

    Works for me!
