I think this hit the nail on the head. IT TAKES A LEARNING CURVE TO LEARN a new OS. That is what so many people do not have...
even you they have a step by step how to do...
they come back an excuse is I do not understand what you write.
OK, write it down your self...
excuse
No, I do not feel like it... it is just too hard.
(PS: this is my oldest son (age 43) and middle son (age 41) reaction).
All I can say "If you have a learning disability thats OK stay with XP.--they do take after their mom. )
Me, I'm the geeky type.
kanehi, I don't see you offering help.
On start up the explorer window appears every time. Despite not being in start up folder.
Any ideas as you seem to be an expert.?
When the explorer window appears what is actually shown? - what folder is showing in the explorer window? what is on any message that appears?
its a window with five folders. (at the mo i am trying my third reinstall and using my vista laptop).
library
pictures library
documents
etc
it can be removed by clicking the X easy enough, but it is doing my head in.
my other issue is live mail. can't find 'send and receive'.
Only problem i have found with windows 7, is whenever i right click on recycle bin, i get windows has stopped responding, other than that i like it
OK what I use for start up investigations is an application called Autoruns (LINK).
This is a quite complex program but shows all the items that start hidden with windows
If you download and run this program there is a Logon tab that shows every process that starts with the computer. I would look for a duplication of the explorer process.
If you wish there is an option to save the data in a file in .arn format - if you save zip this up and post it here using the papercip icon I will take a look for you and see if I can trace the problem
