    Change the SATA operation in BIOS


    Hello guys. I have dell inspiron 15 3521 laptop. I want to change the SATA operation in my BIOS.
    I can get into the bios by pressing f2 at the time of booting.But i cant change anything there accept few.plz help.everything is greyed out.

    The Dell manual does not include anything about this model's BIOS. I would suggest asking this question on the Dell Community, Laptop Section. People there familiar with your Dell and what can be changed in the BIOS.

    Why do you want to change the SATA? Most Notebooks can work only with the hardware in them, have settings accordingly or are blocked from change and usually the only physically-changeable things are the HDD [either PATA or SATA], Memory/RAM and Optical drive.

    The only worthwhile change might be to enable AHCI for SATA controller to reinstall the OS, or without reinstalling you'll need to take these steps once you change it in BIOS: AHCI : Enable in Windows 7 / Vista
