Correcting corrupt files in my W7 64 prof my laptop still crashes

Thanks to Brink I managed to stop getting the corrupt files message after carrying out the sfc /scannow, by installing an upgrade, but the problem is it still happens and I feel it is geting worse (as if some hardware such as the CPU or GPU were not cooling properly), but still trying to make sure prior to dismantling my ASUS G75VW laptop, I tried a small program called WhoCrashed and got the following message after the crash:

    "Crash dump directory: C:\Windows\Minidump

Crash dumps are enabled on your computer.

On Sat 14-Dec-13 1:49:28 PM GMT your computer crashed
    crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: volsnap.sys (volsnap+0x1A0FE)
    Bugcheck code: 0x7E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF88001C5D0FE, 0xFFFFF8800F1648C8, 0xFFFFF8800F164130)
    Error: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
    file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\volsnap.sys
    product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
    company: Microsoft Corporation
    description: Volume Shadow Copy Driver
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that a system thread generated an exception that the error handler did not catch.
The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time."

What is this volsnap.sys and what does it do?

I'm reluctant to believe that it is an overheating problem, because if I start the computer after a whole night off and immediately start any game, the failure/crash happens before the laptop has reached its max temperature; have also tried several PC tests and they give no errors. Check the temps after several hours of running and just after the crash happened in one instance (see attached file)

    Any ideas?

    Thanks a lot,

    Spanish Flyer
