Loosing data

having a problem with my data , turned my laptop on and some of it has disappeared , i use firefox and all my bookmarks have gone , also the music i downloaded and put on my desktop has disappeared , i downloaded everything again and i also bookmarks but when turned the laptop of and then back on they had all gone again , any help would be great , cheers Pablo

I would check for missing or corrupted system files, disk errors, and scan with a couple of different anti-virus products. Example:

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Disk Check

Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware Detection & Removal Software

Free Virus Scan | Online Virus Scanner from ESET

What anti-virus do you have? Please update your system specs: System Info - See Your System Specs

Temporary User Profile?

Did you see a warning about "Temporary User Profile"?
If yes, check out the tutorial below.


User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.
