Install Win 7 on HDD for use on any PC ?

Some time ago I was browsing around these forums and I came across an article that explained how you could install Win 7 in such a way that it had no ties or connection to any pc ?

Can anyone help me with this ?

You can SysPrep the OS then capture an image which can startup just like a new install on any hardware: Windows 7 Installation - Transfer to a New Computer

Another way is to move the existing image to the new hardware and then boot Paragon Adaptive Restore CD to Make Windows 7 bootable after motherboard swap

    Thanks for that Gregrocker.
The solution that I was looking for, is at the initial install of Win7 on a new blank HDD
I remember that there is some way of removing any HDD identification that associates it with the host machine during the install. That way, the HDD and all of the installed programmes can be slotted into any bay of any PC, and operate fully without any further attention.

Just delete all partitions during the booted install.

Unless there are installation problems or the disk somehow interferes with any other disk's booting, it is enough to delete all partitions on the hard drive at Steps 7 and 8 of Clean Install Windows 7. This clears the partition table. There is then nothing about the drive that remains visible to others.

If the HD has installation problems or interferes with other HD's boot then what helps is to wipe the boot code using Diskpart Clean Command

    OK !
Got that. Thanks a lot. I will get cracking with my new install. As it turns out, I think that I may have been concerned about nothing.
    Thanks again.
