Hello, haven't been here in awhile (I never posted much) but I'm glad to see the forums are still here :). I miss Windows 7 and the GUI, especially when I upgraded to 11 and saw the new desktop context menu. Thankfully there was a registry hack to fix it back. Will be looking to purchase two older computers soon with Windows 98 and Windows 7 to play some retro games so thought I sneak back around.
I know I am new myself, but I have come to quite appreciate this forum and I don't think it would be out of place to give a hearty 'Welcome back".

Hello everyone! I just recently started reviving my use of Windows 7 (Starter) mini netbooks, three of which I've had since they were new in the 2010 timeframe. My wife bought a new HP Mini 210-1018CL which lasted a couple months until I regrettably spilled a martini on the keyboard. She replaced it with an Acer Aspire One NAV50 then I got my own A-One D257 which I'm using to type this. Just a few months ago, I finally restored the HP Mini with a new HDD, motherboard and RAM upgrade and it runs like new (Thanks YouTube and ChatGPT!). The the bug bit and I acquired and restored a few more netbooks, another D257 and a couple HP-Minis that were left for dead. It's been a lot of fun and satisfying to bring them back to life!

    Cheers, Allan

Hi from the boonies of Idaho!

New to this forum, but not new to forums.

Here because I'm old, set in my ways and am not a fan of any version of Windows beyond 7.

    So, there...

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm no Spring Chicken either, but I can still embrace the new (I'm active on Ten Forums and Eleven Forum too).
But I also cherish the old and have several Windows 7 laptops in regular use.

    Hi Bree!

Thanks for the welcome. I didn't mean to sound like such a luddite, but I'm happy with Win 7. I also have another computer with Win 10 and a laptop with same, but not fond of either of them.

Hoping to discover all kinds of new stuff in 7 that I did not know about.

    Thanks again,

    Michael
