By trail I mean I skipped the activation key entry because I did not had one and I think it works for 30 days without key , I read somewhere and I keep on getting some messages too ,
The laptop came with win 7 home basic, the sticker at the bottom does not show the version , the only thing visible is toshiba above the activation key , rest is rubbed off , while only 1st 12 characters of the key are visible other rubbed off too. The seriel number is completely visible though , its under the barcode -14 characters, 3 dashes in between them. But I was able to get the key and pid from jelly bean before I changed the orignal hdd , which had some issues with booting (may 2014 when I was here for the 1st time).

Yeah the cpu is running hot because of the virtual box maybe

So why don`t you install the recent release Windows Technical Preview for the next operating system Windows 10, it won`t expire until April 15, 2015

Download Windows Technical Preview ISO - Microsoft Windows

Windows 10 Technical Preview - Clean Install

Yes, you can try the Windows 10 Technical Preview - Clean Install
if your Win7 will not install and Activate. It's only a preview and not even beta yet, but amazingly stable for most thus far.

I would uninstall that Download Manager which looks suspicious. If you need one then install the latest Firefox and add on Down Them All which is safe and works.

The key you found may not work if the PC had not previously been reinstalled using only the Product Key on COA sticker. If not then your only option is to order Recovery Disks from the manufacturer if they're available.

thanks for the reply. I had already uninstalled the download managers , Toshiba support was kind enough to provide me the remaining letters of the key :).

    Thanks all for helping

Very nice! (and rare to hear that) :)

If you'll stick with the steps, tools and methods in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 then you'll be assured to get and keep a perfect install as long as you do.

Ask back if you have any questions. Remember to boot the installer and delete all partitions as nothing is needed once you back up your data according to the preparatory steps to make sure nothing is left behind..
