How to stop a service from running on boot up

    There is also a Services tab on msconfig. After Hiding all MS Services, nothing other than your AV needs to be running. Same for Startup tab.

    VMware Workstation 7 wants to run a bunch of services constantly.

    I changed them all to "Manual" and wrote a batch file, which starts the services and then starts VMW7.
    When I close VMW7, the batch file shuts the services down again.

    What is the point of installing VBoxVmService? What does it gain you over running VirtualBox as normally instaalled?

this is probably a dumb question, but if a service is disabled (HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services), will that stop the scheduled task from running also? what if set to 'manual'?
I have Sky-Drive installed but choose not too have it running at boot....yet it still does? it doesn't start immediately, its like its delayed but it does not have a service in services.msc that can be run as delayed its not in Task Manager or MSCONFIG - cant see anything but context menu DLL's...
Found the the above service was running all the time and I only occasionally use SuperSpyware AntiSpyware as a standalone scan. This is solely as backup check to my Antimalwarebytes Pro. May I stop and disable it, and how would I remove it entirely? Thanks Glenn
