How to stop a service from running on boot up

    There is also a Services tab on msconfig. After Hiding all MS Services, nothing other than your AV needs to be running. Same for Startup tab.

    VMware Workstation 7 wants to run a bunch of services constantly.

    I changed them all to "Manual" and wrote a batch file, which starts the services and then starts VMW7.
    When I close VMW7, the batch file shuts the services down again.

    What is the point of installing VBoxVmService? What does it gain you over running VirtualBox as normally instaalled?
