I haven't used any similar software for many years, so I found it a tad tricky to understand how to use it. The online videos helped. I used Partition Magic years ago and, from memory anyway, found it much simpler to use. However, this does most of the same when you've worked it out.

Thanks to all for your responses and comments. I just prefer a graphic interface as that is what I am accustomed to. Much quicker for me. I did my desktop that was just upgraded to 7, as well as a new HP '7' laptop and it was all done without a hitch, so the Wizard did just as it said it would.

It is certainly nice to have this great forum just a click away. A real help to me on occasion. Thanks!

Over in the Installation & Setup trenches, we are finding Partition Wizard the best app for extricating from Dual Boots:

1)Back up all files and create an image backup stored externally in case u need to start over.

    1) boot using PW disk and mark Win7 partition active if it is not already

    2) delete the XP/Vista partition

    3) if you want to move Win7 onto the deleted OS space, right click 7> Move/Resize and drag border over to encompass deleted space

    4) After operations finish, boot into Win7 installer and run Startup Repair 3 times, as there are multiple issues to fix.

When finished, create a Win7 backup image so reinstalls are never again necessary.
