Click-to-Run "updates have been applied, you can go offline now"
For the last little while, something called "Click-to-Run" on my computer was continually prompting me to update my version of Office, since I hadn't done so in awhile, and the other day it automatically ran the update for me. (Up until this point I continuously chose the option to remind me later.)
Since then, I've been getting strange things happening to my laptop, such as the error message upon start up saying that my version of Windows isn't genuine (even though I assume it is -- because I haven't installed a different version of Windows since I bought my laptop, and when I used the product key I was provided with, the activation worked.) as well as multiple of my programs continuously crashing. (eg. NJStar Japanese Word Processor freezes up and crashes right after being opened.)
The update supposedly finished today, (even though it was installing updates yesterday) and I received another message saying "Updates have been applied, you can go offline now", which I found particularly strange.
I ran several virus and malware tests with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and AVG Internet Security 2015, with no threats coming up.
I may just be paranoid, but when searching about the "..., you can go offline now." message on Google, I wasn't able to find anything useful.
