    Side-by-side configuration error

    Hello,

    I installed a new program and when I try to open I get error "The application failed to start because the side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

    Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\SerialIO.com\SerialMagic Pro\SerialMagicPro.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",versio n="9.0.21022.8" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

    I've downloaded the current .NET and Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Welcome to SevenForums,

    Looks it needs:

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

    Seems also that there's an order to respect when installing the different packages of Visual C++:

    The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

    I downloaded the .Net framework and C++ redistributable version 2005, 2008, and 2010 and it worked. Thank you.
