    I have couple of question(new win7 user)

    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

1.Is there is a way to make the preview panel preview files not associated to Windows Media Player(I use foobar for audio and if I associate the audio files, the preview panel will not play them)

1.1.Is there is a way to make the preview panel auto play the file(not having to click on the play button every time)

1.2.Is it possible the preview panel to keep his size(it's annoying when you set it and shortly after that when you open another window, the panel to either be too wide or too narrow)

2.Is there is any gadget that can show the cpu temp and speed per core

    3.Any good alternatives to StatBar

4.For some unknown reason,I have a lot of restrictions to my second drive(which I used before on my old pc with Windows XP).I connect the drive after I installed Win7

5.There are many program that don't work correctly if UAC is enabled(it's not good idea to disable it but if I do,the pc becomes MUCH more usable than when it's enabled)

6.Stereo Mix recording is really quiet unless I increase the output volume to at least 50% which is a problem since I use headphones and 10% is more than enough

7.Anyone know of a program that can use the nvidia NVENC and Intel Quick Sync(I prefer to not use the cpu so much(the cpu temp jumps to 70C while converting and go down by 20 when the task finish...normally the temp is between 38 and 45)if there a way to make the video converting process much easier)...if possible freeware and if there is a portable version,it will be even better.

    Hello,

#1 I never use Windows Explorer, and it's probably NOT about to play nice with a 3rd party utility, would be my best guess, if that is the preview panel you are referencing here. I use 1by1 for mp3 playing found here (as well as foobar):
    mpesch3.de - Homepage of mp3DirectCut and 1by1 - free MP3 editor and directory player

#2 wise search on Windows 7 gadgets, M$ took down their own support for them after v8 came out:
Windows 7 gadget downloads - Dogpile Web Search

#3 I don't use constant tools for monitoring, if I want to know the scoop one option is Resource Monitor built into 7.
cpuid.com has good tools which are nice testing tools and free:
CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

Also Speccy from piriform.com will give you more info then most would want, but a cool tool, also:
Speccy - System Information - Free Download

#5 disable UAC, no problem, that is one of the first things I disable when installing 7, assuming you don't need it and this is not a work computer with an IT dept with their own rules.

#6 check the recording device levels: Levels tab off properties from the input device. (right click the volume icon from your task tray and take recording devices)

#7 Conversions are CPU intensive, 70C is not a problem.

#4 I think requires more info from you, what exact messages are you getting, post screen shots if you can.

Use the search feature of our forums and the tutorial section (it's huge).

Also, couple = 2 and 7 would qualify as several. muhahaha! Welcome to Seven Forums!

Thanks,I'll probably ask a lot of things

#1 I use foobar because I have a lot of audio formats and foobar support them all but it wold be nice to be able to preview them in that panel. The same goes for video formats...if I associate any video format associated to Windows Media Player, the preview panel will not play them anymore

    #2 Ok,I'll check

#3 I used statbar to monitor the cpu\ram usage,download\upload speed, change the volume and control foobar...the program was something that I constantly used.

4# If I try to save a file(download)with Firefox\IE,an error message appeared saying something about permissions and then suggest to save the file in personal folder(that contains my documents\music\video and so on).
If I try to save a file from the ssd to the hdd,it ask me if I'm sure and it also does the same if I try to delete\make a copy of a file in the hdd...really annoying.

5# Win7 is just something new to me but I'm more than average user.

6# Even if I set the Stereo Mix in Recording Devices to 100%,is the output volume is low,the recorder sound will be at least 3 times lower.

7# Ok but if there is a way to make it easier for the cpu, then why not

#3 there are gadgets to use for monitoring, do that search.

#6 You meant the playback is lower than wanted originally then? The mixer or playback levels are too low? Plug into the sound output plug is not in all the way?

#7 it's fine, intensive CPU usage, you need a better cooling solution (heatsink/fan) and/or thermal paste then your current ones is your option, but 70C occasionally is not a problem, it's not remotely close to a problem, see us when you hit 90C constantly.

The Playback is set to 10% and at higher than that,it's too loud for headphones.
The Record(Stereo Mix)is set to 100% but when I play the recorded sound,it's like I was playing that sound at 1% or even half.

Recording from the microphone is fine but not from Stereo Mix

What is the correct way to uninstall drivers...I'm trying to remove certain drivers from the device manager but doing a scan after that or after restart, the same drivers are installed

And is there is a way to uninstall drivers that don't appear in device manager nor in add\remove
