Navigating Explorer Creates External Hard Drive Activity (Disabled)

Hi,

Every time I navigate and browse explorer all my hard disk drives spin up and remain active for a long time.. The only hard disk drives I need active are solid state drive which hosts my operating system and drive letter E which hosts all my personal files.. I access that drive a lot to stream music and watch movies but everytime I open My Computer or browse hard disk directory all my hard drives become active? It is very annoying and unnecessary since they're synchronized backup drives so hosts identical information.. how can I prevent explorer reading (spinning) up my disk drives when navigating my computer and other parent directories?

C:/ System Files (Corsair 120GB SSD Partition 1)
D:/ Documents And Settings (Corsair 120GB SSD Partition 2)
E:/ Personal Files (Western Digital 2TB HDD)
F:/ Internal Backup (Western Digital 2Tb HDD)
G:/ External Backup (Western Digital My Book)
Z:/ Online Backup (Western Digital My Book Live Nas)

Probably a feature of explorer, I myself have long abandoned explorer for file management, I highly recommend Total Commander found here for testing, just has simple nag click when first running it, bought it ages ago myself:

Total Commander - home

Using TC, drives only spin up again if I select them on either pane after parking occurs.

There are other file managers, my favorite site for generic utility browsing/downloads is softpedia.com
