I don't think that you can ping a specific port.
Have you tried typing the server IP address + Port (e.g. //127.0.0.1:443) into your browser's address bar?
No, i'll try that
where the x is I should type my ip address?
Yep, but it won't work if you're trying to run a cmd without a telnet application/program.
It's not installed by default: Install Telnet Client
It appears I have telnet already but when I type in the command to ping it it showed only a cursor for a couple of seconds then it shows C:\Users\(mypcname)>
What does that mean?
Did you go to programs and features >Features, and click on the telnet feature to turn it on?
What ip address did you type in? Your result looks like it was 127.0.0.1 which would ping back to a port on your machine.
And just to be on the safe side, did you restart your machine?
I didn't restart my machine, I just typed cmd in the start menu and when it opened I typed telnet mangabird.com 443
