Visual effects restore to defaults after re-boot
On my work computer I cannot save visual effects - I like the animations in Win 7, but for some reason the OS is restoring the settings to defaults after I switch off the PC and power it on (during the current session, the settings are accepted). It doesn't happen with other features, e.g. custom startup background, or a theme.
Is there a way to save the new settings once and for all? |

Hello Buhaj, and welcome to Seven Forums.
I had someone the other day that had the same issue. We were able to solve it by using OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to set the visual effects in the registry instead. He was missing the VisualFXSetting DWORD at step 4 that caused it for him. Visual Effects Settings - Change |

I've noticed that issue on standard user accounts. Have to move them up to admin make the changes then reset to standard.

Nar, this can be set by a standard user in the registry for their account.
