    Hello.

    MSINFO32:

    • Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
    • Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
    • Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).

As well as Kool Kat instruction have a look under the machinefor the PART NO is it most important for the info we can get from he Toshibasite - see my pic

    and see this

    Using HW Info

You can test the volts on the PSU with HWInfo HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 -Download < download the right bit version andclose the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power sectionwhere you will see what the volts are doing see my pic.

The original right hand window shows themachine running and is handy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it and use themain left hand side panel

    FOR OTHER COMPONENTS

Open each + down into the componentitself and then click on it - in theright hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds andother essential info that device. See pic for example.

Hmm that is the start of the PART NO Joseph as I get this up for that model Equium L40-17M - Toshiba if you look it is a few extra digits and is like I mentioned before important because to expand on what I said previously it pertains to where the machine was either manufactured and what region it was manufactured for so it does make a difference in getting info and drivers for that particular model.

As you can see from the site the machine is now reasonably old and I am assuming here that it came with Vista and you have updated it. If not let us know because if you installed Windows 7 as a retail or OEM edition then it might mean going back and reinstalling the OS because maybe the disk you have was or is corrupt - it depends on where you got it from.
Now if you have a valid activation code then this is the best thing you can do to get the machine absolutely set up clean. I would personally wipe the drive and do the reinstall. But see this first
Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - you will need to check out what bit version of whatever Windows you have that machine supports too as from the site info it looks like it might support 64bit Windows.

if you do this then also there are these I always follow when doing a clean install.
Registry - Backup and Restore &
    Optimize Windows 7

In fact as an afterthought I would be slipping a new preferably SSD drive in

Not wanting to sound too pessimistic Joseph but Ebay is one place I would not buy any version of Windows from. If you want to make sure the edition you bought is genuine then a quick phone call to Microsoft will make sure it is genuine.
Sorry mate but so many people including my own brother have bought Windows from an Ebay seller only to find it is not a genuine copy. Now I am not saying the seller in your instance has sold you a suspect version but it is a distinct possibility unless you know the seller well enough to trust what has been sold to you.
There are many other places like well established stores that sell Windows at less than what Microsoft will charge - I mean sites such as Amazon etc and personally it is how I buy mine - my usual computer parts supplier.
But to reiterate a quick call to Microsoft would eliminate or verify whether the copy is genuine.
