    automatically move files

    hi all!
i was just wondering if there is a native w7 method that can move files to different folders depending on the file names. ie: i would like to save all my files to just one location and then w7 takes over and distributes the files to their respective folders. photo-test.jpg, text-test.doc, calc-test.xls -> PHOTO, TEXTS, CALCS

    any ideas?

It's still the same basic question.

is there something like a handy method to automatically move files depending on their extension to custom folders?
Backup strategy or not, the same solution would work for everything.

You may want to do a search for a gadget called magic folder that had the functionality you are looking for.

Not sure if it's on the Microsoft gadget site or even if it's fully compatible with windows 7 yet but could be a starting point
