Have you checked to see if the AV on your wife's machine quarantined any of the files required to run that application

Yup Layback Bear, it sounded dumb on rereading it! I guess what I meant to ask was whether I have to scrub my wife's machine to install Win 7/64. I have a strong feeling she won't like that!

Thanks, Shimshom, didn't think of that - I'll take a look shortly.

Nope, Shimshom - nothing in the Quarantine! Weathereye died again due to corrupted WebCacheV01.dat (eventvwr code -1032), and of course Privazer goes into a tight loop as well... and I didn't have ProcMon running! Going to try some other tools! Thx, Paul

I know this sounds dumb, but I suspect this problem had to do with screwed-up permissions. When I started looking at permissions on my wife's machine, I noticed a bunch of strange things, e.g. she didn't even have a user entry for herself in the permissions user and groups list. I spent some time bringing her permissions more into line with those on my machine, and we haven't had the WebCacheV01.dat -1032 problem in 4 days. I am going to mark this as solved - even though I have no idea how it got that way! So fingers crossed!

I also want to thank LayBack Bear, Callender, and Shimshom - I certainly learned a lot from you guys! Thanks very much!
