    Sudden Blue Screen?

I restarted my computer a little while ago and check disk wanted to run. I was out of the room when it happened to I didn't get to hit a key to cancel it. But after it got done and restarted again, I got the BSOD during startup.

Then I tried to start in safe mode and that also gave me the BSOD. I then put in my Windows 7 DVD under the assumption that I may be able to repair it, but when it finished loading Windows Files, I got the BSOD again.

The thing is though, that it was working fine before it ran Check Disk. I was working with Visual Studio 2008, then restarted and it decided that it would start going crazy with BSOD.

Anyone had this happen or know how I could fix the problem an boot back into Windows?

A friend of mine experience a similar problem, but with Vista. I'm probably not the best person to answer this, as much of my PC skizzles come from lots of reasoning and logic rather than actual knowledge about what things are going on behind the scenes :P. Is there anyway you could show us the error code you are getting? Its possible it might be a memory failure rather than a hard drive failure, since its even letting you load into the Windows 7 DVD, which as far as I know doesn't load anything onto your hard drive, only memory(or at least it works this way for Ubuntu...).

Get us the error code and I'm sure someone here will be able to help :)

Hi rayvis, Welcome to the forum!

Please post all the information from the BSOD (word-4-word) so we can analyze it.
Many times there is a module name or a Stop Error code that can help us find the problem.

I will boot back into windows and write down the message. It didn't seem like any other BSOD I have ever experienced as it didn't have as much information listed. I will edit this post with the results in a few minutes.

    ***STOP: 0x00000024 (0x000c22D2, 0x00000016, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
    EDIT: Added Stop Code

Hey, try this link, it might have a fix for you, it's for Vista but might be able to help.

    STOP 0x00000024, 0X0000024, 0X24, NTFS_FILE_SYS Error Code

You may need to reload OS though to really remedy this problem.

    Hi Rayvis,

Check Event Viewer for error messages from SCSI and FASTFAT (System Log) or Autochk (Application Log) that might help pinpoint the device or driver that is causing the error. Try disabling any virus scanners, backup programs, or disk defragmenter tools that continually monitor the system. You should also run hardware diagnostics supplied by the system manufacturer and also Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and resolve any file system structural corruption. You must restart the system before the disk scan begins on a system partition.
