Unknown reasoning for "Error: Cannot Wipe free space for UNC drive"
Hello all, new member here. I have came across this forum many times in the past years when searching, and have found it to be very beneficial. So, I figured I would see if anyone here may know why this is happening.
First off, the information about the Laptop in question;
-Asus K60IJ
-Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit
-Intel Pentium @2.20 GHZ
-4GB DDR 2 Ram
-500GB Seagate Hard Drive
As a part of regular maintenance, I use Glary Utilities and CCleaner to keep the PC clean. In an effort to protect deleted data, I run the "drive wiper"/"wipe free space" function of these programs every so often. I have never had a problem with carrying out these actions until the other day. CCleaner acts like it does something, but having done this before, I know that it's not a few minute operation. Glary Utilities gives a more reasonable response when trying;
"Error: Cannot Wipe free space for UNC drive"
I don't know much about UNC or why my C:\ Drive would be categorized as this. I am on a home WiFi connection, however I haven't every had this connected as a network computer, and also have all of the network/sharing options disabled. I have not made any recent changes that I can recall which may have caused this.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening, or better yet, how I can revert back to where I am able to use this feature of the programs?
All input and suggestions are welcome, I appreciate it very much!
Thank you
