Can someone help me boot from a USB drive in Windows 8.1?
Can someone help me boot from a USB drive in Windows 8.1?
Hi
you can change the boot order in bios to the usb as the first boot device.
I chose Removable Disk, and that didn't work.
what options do you have under boot order. also you should be able to press F12 and get a one time boot
Let me try it again.
I have Windows Boot Manager, CD&DVD, Removable Device, and LAN.
ok should be removable device. did you save and exit? what happens when you have your usb in and start computer? does it just go straight to windows? did you try the F12 option?
So, the 1st boot should be Removable Device? Yes, it goes straight to Windows. I haven't done the F12 option yet.
If you have Windows Boot Manager then you have an EFI BIOS so any flash stick must be specially formatted to boot for UEFI and then the stick must be chosen specifically as a UEFI device.
