    Search bar on taskbar?


    Does anyone know if it's possible to pin the Windows search/run bar to the taskbar?

    I actually wanted the same thing. I tried to drag, but did not work. I used the right click, but did not work. I even tried to research help and support. As far as I know there is no way. But in any event, Happy Thanksgiving

    The address toolbar acts as sort of a run command box.

    Would be a cool idea. Though it works to just hit the windows key then start typing. Thats really easy.

    Hello,

    It's not the same thing, but you can pin this search shortcut to the taskbar to make doing searches a little easier.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Too bad this doesn't appear to be an option at the moment. I miss the little search box in the task bar that was available in Windows Search 4 for XP.

A few days ago what appears to be a Windows Explorer search box appeared on my Task Bar, at the right-hand end. I didn't (knowingly!) put it there and I don't want it. There's no obvious way of unpinning it. Right clicking says I can cut or delete it, but the default on the box is "Libraries". ...

Somehow the search provider in the Windows 7 taskbar address toolbar has changed from Google to Yahoo. I would like to change it back but I have no idea how. I am using IE8 and the search provider there is Google; Yahoo is not even listed; yet the taskbar address toolbar always uses Yahoo ......
Pin Google Search box to taskbar

Would like to pin a Google search edit box to taskbar like I was able to do for Internet Explorer search. Please see attached screen shot showing what I would like to do. Not add shortcut to Google desktop - this will allow floating searchbox that cannot be pinned to taskbar. Thanks
Before we upgraded to 64 bit WIN 7, we were running xp pro. I was able to install a google search box that was put into my taskbar. when i would type something, it would give me options of what to do with my search. There were options...dictionay, thesaurus, feeling lucky...and things like that....
