thank you that's great!
I will see what happens in the morning.. if nothing then I will see if I can contact Microsoft customer service. It was a german company in fact who the operating system came from ..
Does it have a COA sticker similar to the one in the Reinstall tutorial below?
Builders are not allowed to resell the OS without one. If they sold the same key repeatedly then they may have counterfeited the sticker.
The Product Key is online via Google search which may mean its widely circulated. Having the COA and any receipt or bank debit history gives you the best case.
Yes I have the COA and the receipt via paypal I believe... so perhaps I will contact support today - hope they are quick
HI - I have tried to get support from microsoft but have no idea where to go - there isn't a place to report counterfit programs.. or request support unless you pay for it and if I go to enter my product id it says this is not supported in my country so they don't want to help obviously.
Ah ha I have managed to get hold of someone.. will keep you informed
yes after 3 hours with remote assistance the support man Alfred Boo decided the computer need to complete an update but the key is definately bad so I have to buy another apparently.. after 3 hours the pc finally was rebooted and hte agent was meant to stay online.. when it came up again he'd gone and the chat lines were closed. I stil have the same .net 4.5 error and nothing has changed...
Must go and do my animals.. we have a farm and my husband isn't here today.... so much for microsoft..
Hello.. you should not have had these issues.. seems you were in contact with people who in remote assistance were or are scamming you.. If you have legit paid for OS from Microsoft should be no issue to do a clean reinstall as noted in above posts my Maxie and Greg
I don't have legit support from Microsoft.. that ran out a long time ago - I just went to the microsoft assistance chat line and a technician logged in. He said if they couldn't sort it this time then I would have to pay.
I was not referring to any type of tech support as you have that here from us for free.
I specifically referenced MS Customer Service which is another department that deals with issues of OS purchase, legitimacy and possible piracy.
If you googled MS Support you probably got a scammer as suggested. If they connected remotely they may have planted something on your PC. Run a full scan with Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware now to check, declining their trial versions at install to use the on-demand scanners.
Here are the actual Global Customer Service phone numbers - Microsoft
