So Its all back to normal now. I have a new key from a reputable vendor (as was the last one) and I have fixed my net framework version 4.5 by downloading a tool from microsoft - I must say that their tech man I spoke to when I asked about the key didn't have a clue about this either. So the moral of this is don't ever rely on support from Microsoft .. and well done you key copiers out there - its obviously a nice market which Mircosoft isn't bothered about as it just affects individuals mostly.

Thanks everyone for your support - that's a sincere thank you by the way!!!

When I've had to repair Net Framework 4.5 after Repair Installs and reimaging multiple times before, I have always been able to follow the prompts given to do this. If I had not I would have uninstalled it in Control Panel and reinstalled it from its standalone installer download. I provided you with a link to this download, which you never acknowledged along with never acknowledging the advice itself even after I repeated it. So that's not the same as "not having a clue either."

Had you worked with me on accessing the MS program to compensate those who are sold bad keys with a free key, I would have pursued this on your behalf until you go your key or we found out why not.

So the help I tried to give here was not followed through.

Sorry greg but nothing at all would install in the way of updates once the key was bad.. so I could not uninstall or download and reinstall until I had the new key. I did work with you with Microsoft but they did not want to know. I followed your link and rang the UK number and they did not want to know. I could not keep waiting as I have to be able to use my computer as I am in the middle of nowhere breeding horses and sending them all over Europe. I have to be able to download and send paperwork each and every day which my computer was no longer happy doing... I'm not saying you didn't help greg, but Microsoft didn't help at all. After contacting them twice by phone realised they only like Americans perhaps? They kept asking me to ring the USA to report my problem.. despite them knowing I in France..!

So thank you greg. I have acknowledged your help before so please don't say I didn't.... it was good to have someone here just supporting me even if the Gods over there didn't give a damn..

Well I'm really sorry you got that type of non-support from MS Customer Service. It is a shame you had to buy another key as this is not the way they are supposed to do business with those who have bought Win7 from a reseller that proved non-genuine. I'm going to inquire further with the company about this.

Hi Greg, So there is no customer services.. but sales finally helped and if you go to How to Tell - Home and go down the page you can report counterfit copies there!!! So I'm doing that...

What version did they send? The higher versions have Language packs via Optional Windows Updates so you can change it that way, or you can call Customer Service and ask them to provide the Language you use.

Is this a free replacement under the program where they replace counterfeit software? If it's a retail sale, I'd use the return policy to get the language you want.

Hi Greg - its called Windows 7 Edition integrale (on the dvd) on the invoice it says Win Ult 32 bit/64 bit French Direct DVD - last time I tried to ring customer service they didn't want to know.. unless I paid them. Its a replacement under the counterfit replacement scheme - I would add that the software I had originally was not counterfit.. I am sure -- Microsoft made it counterfit by blocking the id as someone else had used the number before.. which is why I think they are actually obliged to replace these operating systems. In the meantime I have already bought a full operating system as I could not wait.. but it would be nice to have the correct language just in case they block the one I have installed.. ha ha!!
