    Same issue: Black screens with cursors and windows explorer crashing ..... this is on at least 40+ computers in a corporation.

    I did a sfc scannow and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\en-us"\ is corrupted

    Sounds like a massive virus/malware hit with software that we all have in common, to be honest.

    We tried Mercury's solution and it did not fix the problem. I attached a screenshot. After running it, the user tried locking his computer and it locked up again.

    It is bitdefender for whoever is using it.

    Bitdefender update went out this morning and killed something.

    did a restore to earlier date on one system. worked fine again.

    once the update hit. broke
