    Flashing log-in screen, LogonUI.exe

During boot up today I was met with a flashing blue log-in screen, unable to choose any user, it just simply kept flashing for all eternity.

I'm able to operate in safe-mode.

May just be a coincidence, but we started seeing this problem on a number of PCs in our environment this morning. Anybody else having this problem as well?

I have exactly the same issue as Fallap - started about 14:40 this afternoon UK time. Almost identical event log output.

Same here! Extremity concerned, started happening near or at 16:00 GMT 00 (Portugal) as well. This is really weird.

EDIT: Appears this is not working for most. BitDefender fix is on the way.

No clue what is going on, but we did manage to find a solution. Run the System File Checker tool.

Open administrator command prompt and run "sfc /scannow".

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

Well; for now; I would try this and see what happens: reboot into safe mode; log into windows if possible; then do a system restore back to before this started happening and see what happens: click start, programs, accessories, then system restore and see if you can find a restore point that is dated before this event started happening. Run the restore for that date and see if it resolves your issue. If not post back.

We started having the same problem this morning. Central Time, USA. No solution yet.

EDIT: We're trying Mercury's solution now. I'll post back.

Also noteworthy is that before I could not open Windows explorer, no matter what. Then I rebooted and this started to happen.
