win7 pro 64bit, pointer with (mouse or kb) locks, stops intermittently

Hi appreciate any help. Since splashing soda water on my keyboard while pc on, I have developed a problem, after changing keyboard combo twice with different undamaged ones.

every time i type or move the pointer about, either the pointer stops, or misses a character while typing.

fitted a new 1tb drive in c: position and installed fresh copy of windows 7 pro 64 bit. to no avail, i still have the problem.

    my system is a quad processor, asrock mb, 8 gb ram, satt drives c: + d: + e: system reserve + d: dvd rw + h; + i: drives

typing, passwords and using the pointer is nearly impossible. prior to spilling soda on keyboard ir using ps2 sockets on pc, it function correctly

What type connection, PS/2, cabled USB or wireless? If using cabled devices it is quite possible the motherboard has been damaged. If USB might try them in a different port or try different devices such as Thumb/Flash drives in the original ports to see if they still work.

i am now using usb connection to kp & mouse and do not understand why i have a fault, other than kb & mouse
the pc worked alright until soaked with soda water, i do not know how to fault-find this problem & what steps to take.
i am retired and disabled and this is driving me mad

Any type liquid on computer parts causes damage.

Do those devices have batteries in them? Liquids can damage the circuitry in them.

Basically, about the only thing that can be done is replace with known-good devices. If they have the same problem then the motherboard is suspect, downside is that sometimes it's more cost-effective to replace the computer with one that has a warranty than to start replacing parts in them and still have an old computer with limited warranty if any.
