    registry "hidden" keys

When I open regedit.exe and go to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NlaSvc not all existing keys are shown.
In fact these invisible or virtualized keys are only shown when opening regedit.exe with the Run as administrator option
    What's the mechanism behind this?
thxs for enlightening me on this subject

Im runnign an admin account with UAC disabled. So Im sure its one or the other in your situation. All keys are displayed for me. Im going to lean towards UAC since it protects and virtualizes certain registry keys.
