Outlook links take 2-4 minutes to open in Chrome

    Hi everyone,

Thanks in advance for your help. Over the past few days, when I click on a link in Outlook, it takes 2-4 minutes to open that link in Chrome. I've used a stopwatch to be sure I'm not exaggerating.

I've run virus checks. I was able to open Outlook in Safe Mode with no problems. I've disabled all my Add-ons.

Your help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Have you tried opening the links from other browsers? For example, internet explorer?

Hi Gator, Thanks for your reply. I think I know what has happened. I was doing a virus check for some malware, and I think that process has changed my registry. I realized that the same thing happened in January when I had to do a malware clean-up.

Can someone please post how I can fix my registry for Chrome? Thank you.

Im not sure about Chrome's registry values but you can try CCleaner's registry cleaning tool. Its one of only a couple registry tools that is safe to use.

Download and install it. Then click on registry. Click Scan for issues > Click Fix All Selected Issues > IMPORTANT! Make a backup when prompted > Clean all

If that doesn't work, you can try reinstalling Google Chrome.

If neither work, try to see if you have a restore point from before this happened. Your files and settings will remain unchanged but any software you added since the last restore point may disappear.

Thanks again, Gator. The forum guy who was helping me with the Malware clean-up had me uninstall Chrome in safe mode and reinstall. I think the issue has been taken care of. I really appreciate your time!
