cd/dvd drive error AVerMedia A336 Minicard Hybrid DVB-T unable to inst

    Hi,

I am hope someone can help me here. My DVD / CD drive on my Packard Bell computer is suddenly not working. When you go into the device manager I see the error, under other devices.

"Windows was unable to install your AVerMedia A336 Minicard Hybrid DVB-T"

I have tried many time to update the drivers; searching both the computer and the internet. I have deleted or uninstalled them and each time this strange error keeps reappearing. The message I get is

What I am confused about is that nothing was changed. It was working well, then suddenly it will not accept any type of disc.

The only software I thing it could have done it is avast antivirus or malware bytes. I have also used paragon partition manager.

    Can somebody please help.

    Thanks Ceira.

Any recent "Windows Updates" installed? Very often they have been known to cause issues.

    • Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.
    • In the left pane, click View update history.

    url not found error.

    Thanks Sir George,

Sorry I could not reply sooner but I had some personal issues to deal with, however, thanks for reply and you are right there are many updates that have failed.

Also I managed to track down the site that supplied the driver, right down to the zip file, and when I tried to go to it, (if that makes sense), the reply was website url not found error. So that was a dead end.

Would you know how I should proceed.

    Thanks Ceira
