PCI Latency Tool Still Doesn't Work

Dale, please try disabling UAC and running it as administrator. On the issue you're encountering running the latency tool, please give more details so we can make it run on your system.

The reason I went back to this, to date, I've not found any other notable solutions to this "Crackling and Popping" that does not involve PCI Bus adjustments short of changing the Audio Card completely

I'm most willing to see what we can do with this issue of yours
    Thanks for the help, Nosferatu.

The error message I'm getting reads "Failed to initialize Config Space access! If you have just installed the tool, try rebooting the system. Otherwise, try installing it." Needless to say, neither works. I've had UAC turned off during all my attempts and I have tried installing and running in native Win 7, as well as Vista and XP compatibility modes. The installed program is set to run in Administrator mode. I haven't been able to get compatibility mode to allow me to intall in Administrator mode, however I'm installing under an Administrator account.

Baarod - I'm pretty sure the driver has a RAM bug as well, so I'm still interested in hearing your opinions for working around this bug without limiting my system RAM based on the system configuration files I posted.

You might want to check out the new drivers for your card, here. It was just posted.
    Might be worth a shot

    NosferatuX & Baarod -

I've been using the new drivers since before I started this thread. I've responded back in the original thread (here), along with a synopsis of our findings to date. Let's continue to work this problem, but post your responses back in the original thread so they'll be easier to find by others with similar problems.

I'm anxious to hear your thoughts.

    Solution found!!!

    Hello everybody!

I found a turnaround for installing the 64bit version of PCI Latency Tool 3.1 build 2:

Simply let Windows 7 deal with the problem by pressing "Troubleshoot compatibility" in the context menu, while holding your mouse on the installation file.

What turns out to be the problem - Windows denying you to install PCI Latency Tool due to lacking admin authority - is a missing digital signature of the PCI Latency Tool Config Space Access Driver (in LtcyWDM.sys).

    Cheers,
    Goodtwist
