    users and permissions

Hi best wishes to one and all.
I have a problem I hope someone can help with, I had trouble deleting a folder on my desktop, it said I needed permission. I am the only user, I am logged in as administrator, when I click security in properties(see screenshot) there appears to be several users logged? As you can see I gave them all permissions, but still told I did not have permission to delete folder. Questions; 1) how do I have all these users, 2) can+ should I delete any. 3) if I am logged on as administrator, why do I need permission to delete. I have looked at help files on permissions but it loses me, as you can guess I am a newby and only understand English. I have Windows 7 Pro. 16Gb memory, i7 Processor. Thank you in advance. Sorry. hope this works.

    Hello newbytinkerer,

You might also see if the free program Unlocker may be able to delete it for you. :)

Q1) how do I have all these users,
"Home Users" and "Administrators" are user groups, and "SYSTEM" is a system account for Windows.

"Account Unknown" is a user account that is currently no longer available. For example, the user account has been deleted, or is not currently connected to the PC via a network.
    Q2) can+ should I delete any.
You can only safely remove "Account Unknown" if you like. Doing so will remove access for that user unless that user is a member of the "Home Users" and "Administrators" groups.
Q3) if I am logged on as administrator, why do I need permission to delete.
The folder seems to have been locked or currently in use by something preventing it from being deleted.
