Like the OP in that thread, can you explain what exactly you are trying to do?

Sure, I've downloaded an iso file. When I double click it, it mounts as Drive J: and I can use it as if it were an optical drive.
The problem is, it may be pirate software as Windows has decided "This Computer is not running genuine Windows". Or I think that's what has happened. I've run the "resolve Online now" link for over 48 hours and it's done nothing. If I can remove it, I can prove if it's that or not. Rebooting has no effect, it's still there.
    Thanks for any assistance.

You should be able to unmount it with this: Mount or dismount a drive - Windows Help

    Or this: SlySoft Virtual CloneDrive

If you are receiving Windows not genuine error, check to see if you have this update installed: KB3004394

When you get to "Installed Updates" search for the update I mentioned above. If you have it, uninstall it and call Microsoft to re-activate Windows.

    Hello Kirkm,

You should be able to right click on the drive (mounted ISO) in "This PC", and click on "Eject" to remove it. :)

Ah, thanks very much guys, Brink I had removed it before I seen your msg but will remember that. Gater - 100% success. I'd been to Disk management many times without seeing "Remove". Not sure how to confirm if I have KB3004394installed. I typed it into the search dialog but nothing came up. BTW it is a genuine Win7 and I have MSE installed and usually say Yes to any updates that aren't automatic.

Gator, I have found KB3004394 in the history Status successful Date Dec 11.
Shall I wait and see if the problem is fixed before trying to uninstall it, ring MS etc. ?

The update is bad so it can be uninstalled either way. If you no longer have Windows Genuine errors there is no need to call Microsoft.
