Power usage and Power savings settings questions

How much power does an dell inspiron 2020 all in one desktop if left on 24/7 with all the power savings settings disabled? I don't leave it on 24/7 but I am trying to get a cost of usage per hour in various modes.

I would also like to figure out how much less it would use if you put windows 7 in sleep mode or hibernation mode lets say an hour.

I am also trying to figure it how much it would save money at night if I just unplugged everything.

We are on Duke Energy Indiana, U.S.

Does a Screen Save use less or more power?

Thank you for this information in advance.

No clue. You`d have to compare 2 elecrical bills, but someone will come along with a technique.

You should never leave a pc on 24/7 if you`re not using it, that`s just crazy IMO.

You should have the monitor going off after 10 to 15 and sleep or hiber after 45 to an hour.

Of course a screensaver uses more power and just heats up the video card, no need to even run one.

The only time I leave a computer on 24/7 is when doing a very large download overnight. I set the monitor to go off in 15 minutes when I do that but leave the hard drive on. I am going to start unplugging it at night.
