    Make an account icon invisable

I would like to make an account icon invisible.
I am going to create a password protected account. An icon for that account will be placed on the desktop. I would like to permanently move the icon to a corner and make it invisible . Can it be done? How?

Thanks Rich. But I don't see how. The account icon have a mind of their own, plus a taskbar is not visible yet.

    Hello Bill,

What type of file is this?

Are you able to create a shortcut on your desktop for this user account icon to use? If so, you could easily change the icon of a shortcut to be a transparent icon.

You can use the tutorial below to hide the text for this file as well. :)

This icon is for the user accounts that display right after boot but before getting into an account. I have not found a way to play with that icon except the usual changes in Control Panel .... User Accounts.

Ah, the user account picture on the log on screen then.

If you like, you could set to have users have to log in by typing both a user name and password like below. This way no users are shown on the log on screen.

Log On with User Name and Password

    Brink,
I changed the accounts so that user name AND password must be used. Used your link. Now an account holder tried to get on her account and couldn't. She used (what she thought it was) her user name . Now I must create another account and xfer her info to it. Unless I can find it,
Question? Where are the user names kept?

Are you able to reverse the setting from within any administrator account?

No, I can't, however, I was able to get into the account, delete the PW and put the PW back in again. She is satisfied with the results. Used Teamviewer and did this remotely.
