The problem was never that bad for me thank goodness, and after my last post on the subject I just decided to wait for the first service pack rather than install the hotfix and any associated "issues". Well, I installed SP1 a couple of weeks ago, and I checked that it included this hotfix. However, the problem still persists - although not every time I shut down.
    I can live with it.

Task Host Window message at log off

I also see this this process when logging off (Task Host Window process running). It appears only on one of my accounts on my laptop, but not on others. The other symptom (in my case) is that a process in running in the background that does not show up in the "Windows-Task manager->Processes". Meanwhile "->Performance" indicates ~95 to 100% CPU usage going on constantly. Curiously, it does not show up on other user accounts. My suspicion is that some virus like process is running that tagged along while I was reinstalling my operating system. It would be nice to hear of a solution other than having to create and use a different user account (and possibly redoing the operating system!).

I have the same problem, but it doesn't cause a serious delay(it is hard even to read the script of Task Host Window. But if there were a good solution to eliminate this minor delay,it would be nice. Thanks!

    I have the same message

I started to receive this message when I was infected with the redirsrv.com (not iredirsrv.exe) irritating browser tracker. This tracker is difficult to break free from.
