    Undo close all windows

I had right-clicked on windows explorer to open a folder under the frequent list when somehow, perhaps due to slow down, my cursor landed on close all windows. I was wondering if there was some means of undoing/restoring those closed windows explorer windows, I had many open.

Go to History and you will see them ( choose View By Order Visited Today).

In the future, check the box that says Start With Tabs From Last Session and when you open IE, they will appear.

I think I may have misunderstood - if so, sorry.

To clarify I am referring to plain old windows explorer which uses the vanilla folder icon in the task bar when a bunch of windows are stacked, not internet explorer.

My Windows Explorer doesn't have a frequent list of any kind. It also doesn't have a close all Windows either.

Could you explain in more detail.

The close all button will appear when you have multiple explorer windows open AND you have taskbar properties set to "always combine, hide labels" which is the default setting

This is exactly what I'm referring to.

The irony is that if I didn't use the jump list I wouldn't have this problem to begin with, haha. To put this in another way I'm trying to find a way to restore those windows accidentally closed with their "histories" intact. By that I simply mean if you open a window and click on a folder and then click on another folder inside of that you can click on the arrow in top left-hand corner to return to where you previously were. Clicking on the small blue icon next to those arrows will display your history for that window.

Doing some research I found some third-party programs that can keep track of this. I got one of them to run but it seems to only function if set to run on startup. "UndoClose" gets mentioned a lot but I can't get it to run even after messing around with compatibility settings. "Restore previous folder at logon" in folder options would seem to affect only folders that are currently open. The only other thing I can think of is to use a restore point after getting one of these third-part programs to start running but would that even work?
